In 2024, Zubak Grupa installed 13,000 square meters of solar panels with a total capacity of 2.09 MW at its four largest locations. This is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 407 tons annually. The solar panels were installed at four sites to cover our internal energy demands, while two of these locations also include solar plants for producing and selling electricity.
The overall investment in this project is €1.8 million, and we estimate that the annual savings on electricity costs, combined with income from electricity production, will exceed 50%. The investors are Zubak Grupa d.o.o. and AutoZubak Zagreb d.o.o.
The solar plants were installed at Zubak Grupa’s four largest locations: Dumovec, Sesvete, Sesvetski Kraljevec, and Velika Gorica. They became operational in August of this year. One key goal of solar plants, besides cost reduction, is to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. These four solar plants are equivalent to planting 16,000 trees.
As Croatia’s TOP employer and a leading company in the automotive industry, we consider this a significant and right path toward toward more sustainable business practices and lower operational expenses.
